Weekly Wrap Up - Week 16
This week was our 2nd week back after our holiday break and it felt like we got a little of our groove back. One thing God is teaching me is to follow His plans and I think I'm catching on a little!
This week we learned about Frederick the Great of Prussia, Catherine the Great, and the Tax Stamp Act in history. We learned about plants, uniformitarianism, catastrophism, and a healthy diet in science. Math consisted of fractions, negative numbers, and balancing budgets. Grammar and writing included a review of adverbs, adjectives, homophones, and when to start a new paragraph. I can really see some independence in subjects beginning to surface all around.

Blogging Through The Alphabet - J is For...
Blogging Through the Alphabet with Letter J.
Last week, I spent a lot of time feeling kind of blah with an icky cold but I did not let it steal my Joy!
Something that helps me so much is to keep focused on all the blessings in my life. One of my goals is to keep those blessings in focus through out my week and I'm doing that by listing at least 3 things each week that I'm thankful for in my planner.
You will not believe how much this simple act will turn around your day.
Now, go be joyful because there is ALWAYS something to be joyful about!

Blogging Through The Alphabet - I is for...
Blogging Through the Alphabet with Letter I. I is for Intentional. That's what I want my new year to be all about - intentional. I don't want it to fly by without me knowing or remembering a single thing that happened. In order to make the year count and meet the goals I have set, I must be intentional!
Here are some areas I am trying hard every day to be intentional on...
We like family selfies. :) Hubby was working!
Here are some areas I am trying hard every day to be intentional on...
- Spending time unplugged - my children are growing up so fast and we are a technology family so it's easy to all be plugged in to our own thing. I want us to be plugged in to one another more! We love games so that's a great way to start. Every Wednesday afternoon is now declared game day! One game resource we really enjoy is cards of any kind. This is skipbo and a really fun family game.
- Another area is in exercise. I'm trying to be intentional to just get moving. My goal is at least 3 times a week. Right now, that movement is mainly walking or Just Dance with my daughter. She loves it when I play with her so that's what we've been doing this week mainly!
- Spending time with God first is another intentional area I'm working on! The Jesus Calling Devotional makes that super simple to do. I LOVE it and would recommend it to everyone!
Are there any areas in your life that you are being intentional to get done for 2015? I'd love to hear about them!

Ring in the New Year with eMeals
Was one of your goals to eat healthier in 2015? If so, then be sure to check out all the options available now from eMeals including Clean Eating, Paleo, Portion Control, Vegetarian and more. They are constantly adding new options to aid you in menu planning.
Here's a tip on staying healthy this year:
Slow and Steady Wins The Race—If you’re trying to lose weight,
there are plenty of diet plans, weight-loss products and miracle foods that
promise to deliver quick and easy results. How do you know if a diet or product
is too
good to be true? Watch out for these three signs:
• Promises weight loss
of more than 1 pound per week: Weight loss of ½ to 1 pound per week is a
practical goal and is best for your health. Setting a goal of losing weight more
quickly will be hard to achieve, leaving you feeling defeated. Set yourself up
for success by starting with an attainable goal.
• Claims to change the way
the body works: No one food, magical combination of foods, or supplement can
change your genetic code or change the way the body processes food. Any diet
that promises to “melt away fat” or cause your body to become a “fat-burning
machine” is definitely too good to be true.
• Advertises “no need to
exercise:” Diet plans that promise you’ll lose weight quickly without exercise
may sound appealing, but they’re taking the focus off living an overall healthy
lifestyle. Exercise is a valuable tool in helping you achieve your weight-loss
goals, plus it’s also good for your heart, can help maintain bone mass, and help
prevent chronic diseases. For more great tips, check out this article.
