Review: How To Market and Sell Your Ebook

Okay, confession time again!  That's twice in one week.  Writing an ebook has never even crossed my mind. I love the information available today in the form of ebooks but for me to personally write one.  Well...no way!  So, why in the world did I read and review a book on selling and marketing your ebook?  Because, it is a book written by a mom just like me.  A mom trying to support her family.  A mom who has a passion of helping other moms.  A mom who has many talents and gifts and among them - writing ebooks.

I had previously read Sarah Mae's two other ebooks - Core Lies and 31 Days To Clean.  Core Lies is available for free and 31 Days To Clean is only $4.99.  I enjoyed both of those so I wanted to see what this one was about too!

Let me just tell you that after finishing reading this ebook, I felt empowered to write my own!  And remember I had no desire before AT ALL!  So, if you have even the slightest urge to write your own ebook - you will definitely want to get this one to aid you in the process.  Sarah Mae gives you step by step instructions on promoting, editing tips, frequently asked questions for the skeptical, resources available, costs analysis, and so much more.

And again, her pricing is so affordable!   How To Market and Sell Your Own Ebook is only $4.99.  Honestly, it has so many valuable resources included in it that it is worth much more than that.  She shares with you her own personal success story and gives you what worked for her step by step!

Right now, you can win your own marketing package along with this ebook!  You can also check out the table of contents.

And for my readers, I have a free copy to give away!  So, if you are interested in winning your own copy of  "How To Sell and Market Your Ebook" read the following guidelines.

  1. You must be a follower of Grace Christian Homeschool.  If not, you can do so easily by hitting the follow button in the sidebar.
  2. Leave me a comment stating what ebook topics you would be interested in reading about and make sure you leave me an email address!

Contest ends July 4th and the winner will be announced July 5th.  One winner will be chosen by my Sarah in honor of Sarah Mae!

Homeschool Planning

Okay, I have a confession.  I am a planning junkie!!  This week I am typing up lesson plans by the week for us.  So far I have our grade level readers, additional history readers, and read aloud schedules plugged in.  Most of my plans are coming from My Father's World this year so I'm at least simplifying!  I'm also using Sonlight's reading schedule but I needed it all in one place or I knew the follow through wouldn't go as well.

Not only am I combining curriculum but I'm also combining lesson plan sheets!  I really liked the weekly planning pages in this planner but it wasn't possible to change the headers and I didn't like that at all!  I did like the 2nd part of the planner page where I could list field trips coming up, supplies needed, etc.  So, I am using the 2nd page and also using this one from Creatin' Classical Choas and the best part is it's free!!  Thank you so much for sharing Julie. It was just what I was looking for.  I was able to tweak it to fit our schedule which includes no work at home on Tuesdays because we have Classical Conversations.

I was going to show you my hard work but much of it is under copyright so here is the body :).

The Homeschool Mother's Journal - summer!

In my life this week….

I came to the conclusion that I am getting old :).  After returning from summer camp I went to bed for three days straight at 9:00pm and that after taking 2 hour naps during the day!  I was so exhausted!!  We had a wonderful time but we were so glad to be back home.

My favorite thing this week was…

Reading my children's essay papers on why they want to be a part of the dance ministry team.  Oh boy, I was in tears.  Their hearts are so focused on God at such young ages that it blows me away!

Places I’m going…

After returning from summer camp, Sarah had princess camp in the morning this week and they all attended a local VBS by night.  So, we are doing nothing next week!  A stay at home week!  Woohoo!

Sarah and Mrs. Angela at the end of princess camp.

The Homeschool Mother's Journal - summer!

In my life this week….

This week has been crazy as we are gearing up for dance recitals tomorrow! All 3 of my children started taking dance this year and love it! They are a part of a ministry team that goes out into the community and dances to Christian music to share God's love through dance. Jonathan and I are also packing to head out to summer camp on Monday!! Summer is here!

My favorite thing this week was…

The final week of our ladies bible study. We finished up Living Beyond Yourself by Beth Moore and let me just tell you that I was so filled with the Spirit when I left last night that I had a hard time even sleeping. Our group was small and intimate and mixed of all ages and every single one of us talked about how much we grew during this study and we're already planning our next one!!

Places I’m going…

My oldest son and I will be gearing up for a week of summer camp on Monday! I would appreciate your prayers for our leaders and teens.

Things I’m working on…

The Homeschool Planner Review and Giveaways!

As you know I LOVE to plan - the follow through is a whole different story but I'm working on that!  I've tried many planners and found that for me - the simplest seems to work the best.  I also like pulling pages from different planners because let's face it - not every planner will fit your every need perfectly!  Or is that just me??

The Homeschool Planner is a simple streamlined printable planner that I have used to print off the pages I need and begin to plan our fall homeschool lessons.  I started with the lesson planner and wrote in our Sonlight reading plans, math lessons, and Classcial Conversations ideas for history and science.  There is also a spot for supplies needed for the week so I added in what we will need for My Father's World there.  We are combining lots of curriculum this year so I know I'd need it all in one place or else it will fall by the way side.

My favorite of all the forms so far would be the attendance record keeper.  It is broken down by month, week, and day!  I really like checking off what days we are in attendance so I can see a pattern and try to plan accordingly for the next year.

Also included in the original download of The Homeschool Planner are forms for a Cover page, Art Project Planner, Attendance Record Keeper, Book Report Worksheet, Field Trip Planner, Project Planner, Science Experiment Planner, Scripture Verse Planner, Student Project Notes Worksheet, and Thematic Unit Planner.

The planner also includes a lifetime unlimited access to a special members area where forms are being adding on a weekly – sometimes daily – basis. I love this - she is also taking suggestions for forms.

Some other great features of this planner are........

  •  You can pick and choose what to print, how much to print, etc.
  • Minimal items are needed to put together your own planner. Items needed: 3 ring binder, the forms provided with The Printable Homeschool Planner, a printer with ink, a three ring hole punch, and dividers (optional.)
  • You can get a free sample just for sharing about their website on either Twitter or Facebook!
  • One more thing to note is Heather is working to make the forms editable!  Oh yeah!!
The best part about The Homeschool Planner is the cost!  To start planning today all you need is $4.97 and you can print it again year after year!

Heather has been so kind as to allow me to giveaway 5 copies of The Homeschool Planner!!

To enter please be sure to follow "Grace Christian School" and then leave me a comment letting me know you did.  I will also need an email address to get in touch with you!  Simple enough?  GO!  Contest ends June 19th!

I will have my children draw numbers for the winners after I return from summer camp next week so on June 20th we will announce the winners!

And Today I Pray For You

My sweet and precious boys.  My prayer is that you would be obedient first and foremost to the Lord your God and all else will fall into place.
They may fight with each other and get on each others nerves but truly they are best buddies.  May you each grow closer in your walk with God each and every day!

I love you!
Mom

Homemaker's Challenge - 31 Days To Clean - Week 5

Wow, we are coming to the end of this challenge and I have to say that I have really enjoyed it.  I haven't completed every Martha or Mary challenge but that's okay because I MADE PROGRESS and that's better than doing nothing!

This week, I have to say I think Sarah Mae was reading my mind!!
I am a person who loves to plan, who loves to schedule, who loves trying out new systems and building them up.  I am not a person who follows through well!  I think I get bored so I look for something new and that excites me to start again.  That's okay, I know I'm not perfect but I won't let that stop me from continuing!

Once again it was the Mary challenges that I gained the most insight from this week.  We came up with a workable routine, listed distractions that keep us from following that routine, and today we begin a journal of the times when we feel more motivated to clean.  I can tell you that after two nights of sleeplessness - I was not motivated to clean!

A big distraction for me would definitely be my computer.  I had a great habit of not turning it on before noon during our homeschool days when we first started.  I have completely turned away from that and I'm finding it is a huge distraction!  How about you?  What do you do to help with your distractions?

The Homeschool Mother's Journal - summer!

Love the new summer edition tag over at The Homeschool Chick!
In my life this week….
First week of summer vacation!!  Woot woot!  And you know what - I couldn't help myself! I already started a little planning.  I'm also tweaking our curriculum for next year and seeing what else needs to purchased.  Here's our 8th grade choices.  3rd and 5th coming up soon.
My favorite thing this week was…
Shopping in a new to us mall by none other than - a mini train!  We took our mother in law to the airport this week and she gave us some money to stop by and enjoy a lunch out.  Have I mentioned that I have the best m-i-l ever!?!?  It's blurry but we were in action ;)

Places I’m going…
My oldest son and I will be gearing up for a week of summer camp starting June 13!  I would appreciate your prayers for our leaders and teens.
Things I’m working on…
Nothing really -  but I need to....
clean out this year's school stuff
get next year's out and place on shelves
planning - shouldn't be too difficult this year since we are using parts of My Father's World, Sonlight, and Classical Conversations.  I just need to combine which schedules we will be using.  I'm looking forward to doing that using my new weekly homeschool planner.
Books I’m reading…
A quote, a video, a link or pic to share…
Note to self:  Enjoy summer!  Jump in a few puddles - it's okay and fun too!!
